The Parque Natural do Vale do Guadiana (Guadiana Valley Natural Park) is a Nature Park created in 1995. Its around 173,000 acre big in the portuguese province of Baixo Aletejo. The administration of the Park is done by the Instituto da Conservação da Natureza e da Biodiversidade with headquarter in Mèrtola.

In the Park there are many rare species, like the Iberian Midwife Toad and various snakes. Also there are lynx, storks including the rare, but resident black stork, Lesser Kestrel, and the various Eagle species.

In the Nature Park "Guadiana Valley" we have 9 marked trails and a Mining Trail.

The distinctive feature of the hikes are the obeservation of plants and animals in the park. Therefore every map has a list of the various plants and animals likely to observe along the trail.
